Marcus Rashford breaks Manchester United record vs Everton

Marcus Rashford has become the youngest player to make 200 Premier League appearances for Manchester United after being included in the starting line-up for today's clash with Everton at Goodison Park.

The academy graduate, who was left out of the team for last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Leicester City at Old Trafford, despite both Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani being unavailable for selection, is one of six changes Ralf Rangnick has made for the lunchtime kick-off. He has named Rashford in his preferred front-three, joining Jadon Sancho and the returning Ronaldo.

Rashford's inclusion in the starting line-up in the league for just the fourth time in 2022 means that he has now bettered Ryan Giggs' record of being the youngest player to make 200 Premier League appearances for United. Rashford has beaten the Welshman to the record by 135 days.

The 24-year-old, who made his first Premier League appearance in February 2016, famously scoring twice in a 3-2 win over Arsenal at Old Trafford, has struggled for form and consistency this season, scoring just five goals in 27 games in all competitions. He has not scored since the 1-0 win over West Ham United back in January.

In his first 199 Premier League appearances, Rashford has scored 59 goals and racked up 39 assists, meaning he has just two direct goal contributions away from reaching a century. He has had a hand in six Premier League goals this term, scoring four times and claiming two assists.

He has joined Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelof, Alex Telles, Nemanja Matic and Cristiano Ronaldo in being reintroduced to the starting line-up today.
