Marc Jurado hints at Manchester United target after being in the squad vs Nottingham Forest

Youngster Marc Jurado is seemingly targeting his Manchester United debut after being included in the matchday squad for the very first time against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday.

The right-back, who joined United's academy from Barcelona back in September 2020, was named on the substitutes bench because of the amount of injuries manager Erik ten Hag is currently having to deal with. Defenders Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia all missed the trip to the Midlands through injury.

Jurado, alongside fellow youngsters Zidane Iqbal and Nathan Bishop, will have gained plenty of experience from being part of the matchday squad for the first time in his senior career, even though he did not make it onto the pitch. Ten Hag made two substitutions during the 2-0 win, calling on Wout Weghorst and Fred to step off the bench in the second half.

Despite not being fortunate enough to make his United bow against Forest, the 19-year-old clearly believes he is one step closer to fulfilling his dream of representing the club at senior level.

Sharing a picture of himself arriving at the City Ground on his Instagram page, Jurado posted: "It will come," accompanied by a 'fingers crossed' emoji, suggesting that he is determined to make his debut as soon as possible.

Jurado, who only celebrated his 19th birthday last week, played a key role in United's FA Youth Cup success last season, starting all six of the Under-18s' matches on their way to lifting the trophy at Old Trafford. He has also trained with the first-team on several occasions, both this season and last.
