Manchester United youngster Finley McAllister signs first professional contract

Manchester United youngster Finley McAllister has signed his first professional contract with the club.

McAllister, who only turned 17 this month, was born in Salford and he's been handed a professional deal in recognition of his progress in the academy. His natural position is defensive midfield and he featured for the Under-18s last season.

The midfielder made 11 appearances for the U18s and he played a role in their third-place finish in the Premier League North table.

The youngster announced his new contract on social media and wrote: "Delighted to have signed my first professional contract with the club I’ve followed and loved since the very start. A Special moment for me and my family. the hard work continues."

McAllister notably made his debut for the club's U18s against Derby County in February 2021 aged just 14 years and seven months.

Maxi Oyedele, Dan Gore, Sam Murray and Kobbie Mainoo all played in that game against Derby and those players were all part of Travis Binnion's side that won the FA Youth Cup in front of a strong Old Trafford crowd in 2021/22.

Gore and Mainoo are currently part of the first-team for the USA tour and the latter will be kept around the squad next season.

McAllister has also represented England at Under-16 and Under-17 level and he captained the Three Lions last term.
