Manchester United will never have a better chance to sign Harry Kane

Manchester United's interest in Harry Kane is understandable. The Reds' lack of a focal point in the centre-forward position hindered them when it really mattered this season. Beyond Marcus Rashford, goals have been hard to come by.

As a striker, Erik ten Hag could probably do no better than Kane. His consistency to score in a below par team can only be commended and his work rate should fit well with the style which United are trying to implement.

But, while MEN Sport understands Kane is Ten Hag's main priority this summer, United are currently working under the premise Daniel Levy will not sell his striker. This theory was backed up further when Tottenham featured Kane heavily in their new kit launch.

If United cannot seal the signing of the England captain in the upcoming transfer window, their chances of securing his signature at all will be greatly diminished. With Alan Shearer's Premier League record still in sight, remaining in England seems to be the striker's priority.

However, this will not last forever. In 2020, Gary Neville broached the subject of moving abroad with Kane on The Overlap, he replied: "Of course there's always the option of maybe moving abroad one day but I don't think that really interests me in the near future."

While Real Madrid is on the cards due to them losing Karim Benzema, now feels like it would be too soon for Kane to move to Spain considering his aim for personal accomplishments. Although, in 2024, when he will presumably be a free agent, United's task of signing the striker will be harder.
