Harry Maguire has won the Premier League Player of the Month award.
That isn't a sentence that you expected to read this season, is it? But after helping Manchester United record three wins from as many league games in November, the England international was crowned with his award on Friday, becoming the first defender in almost two years to win the prestigious accolade.
Maguire, 30, played a key role in United's faultless November run in the league, helping them record three wins and three clean sheets to boost their Champions League qualification hopes for next season. He firmly established himself as the club's chief centre-back, leapfrogging Raphael Varane in the pecking order in the process, to continue the process of rekindling his United career.

Wednesday night's 2-1 win over Chelsea marked his eighth Premier League start in a row and his 12th in succession in all competitions. You have to go back to the 3-2 home defeat to Galatasaray on October 3 for the last time the Reds started a game without him in the heart of their defence.
Considering Maguire was a player United were looking to sell during the summer, the way he has got his Old Trafford career back on track deserves huge amounts of praise. Refusing, at any point, to throw his toys out of the pram or attempt to force through an exit in the hunt for regular minutes, the former Leicester City defender has remained both professional and committed.
After being stripped of the captaincy on a permanent basis in the summer, it would have been easy for Maguire, who will be targeting another starting berth when United welcome Bournemouth
