Manchester United transfer news RECAP - Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham latest as major takeover update revealed

Manchester United are continuing their search for a striker with Harry Kane known to be the main target this summer.

The future of Kane is dominating the headlines this summer as Erik ten Hag attempts to do what Manchester City couldn't and prise him away from Daniel Levy and Tottenham.

MEN Sport understands United are already preparing for Levy to play hardball and alternative options are being monitored. The Reds also remain interested in Chelsea's Mason Mount.

The Chelsea midfielder is known to have held talks with United's representatives and the Manchester Evening News understands Mount has agreed personal terms with United but a fee has yet to be agreed.

Elsewhere, Donny van de Beek is said to be questioning his future at the club, having endured a tough time since his move from Ajax in 2020. The midfielder suffered a serious knee injury earlier in the year but is expected to be back for the start of pre-season.

A recap of the day's United news.

There should be more movement in the coming weeks as Manchester United begin to execute their plans for the summer transfer window.

Erik ten Hag has told the board the areas in which he'd like to strengthen his side during the off-season, and now all eyes are on those attempts to try and secure as many top targets as possible.

United's main concern is that the continued uncertainty regarding the future of the club and the ongoing takeover talks have made it much more difficult to plan ahead, with budgets potentially affected by any imminent ownership change.
