Manchester United transfer news RECAP Europa League squad confirmed as Antony reacts to debut

Manchester United climbed up to fifth in the Premier League table with an impressive 3-1 win over league leaders Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Antony, fresh from joining the club on transfer deadline day, was thrown straight into the starting line-up and marked his debut with a goal, firing United into a one-goal lead at half-time. Bukayo Saka brought Arsenal back level on the hour mark, but the Reds restored their lead through Marcus Rashford's second goal of the season.

Rashford netted his second and United's third goal nine minutes later, ensuring they stretched their winning run to four matches. It also ended the Gunners' winning start to the campaign, meaning there is plenty for United and manager Erik ten Hag to be positive about.

However, the Dutchman will not allow his players to rest on their laurels. They start their Europa League campaign on Thursday evening, welcoming Spanish outfit Real Sociedad to Old Trafford.

United will have strong aspirations of winning the competition this season, meaning they will be expected to continue their recent run of good form. That means that Ten Hag and his players will be working hard on the training ground over the next few days in preparation for the visit of the La Liga club.
