Manchester United transfer news LIVE Man Utd vs City reaction plus takeover latest

The inquest into Manchester United's derby defeat against Manchester City has well and truly started.

United were comfortably second best at Old Trafford, despite a good start, as they fell to a 3-0 defeat against Pep Guardiola's men. An Erling Haaland brace and a Phil Foden tap-in were enough to put the game beyond the reach of the Reds.

Questions have been asked of Erik ten Hag's matchday decisions in the aftermath of the defeat and further reaction to the result will be coming through today.

Elsewhere, the fanbase will be eagerly awaiting news on Sir Jim Ratcliffe's investment. Sunday's defeat showed plenty of work still needs to be done at Old Trafford and Ratcliffe has a huge job on his hands if he is to control footballing matters at the club.
