Cristiano Ronaldo sent social media into a frenzy on Friday for many reasons, but predominantly due to him revealing he will feature for Manchester United in Sunday's pre-season friendly with Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford.

The superstar still wishes to leave the club and has not travelled with Erik ten Hag's squad to Norway for their encounter with Atletico Madrid, whom he was linked with a move to until the club's president ruled out the possibility.

He was very active on Instagram earlier in the day, reacting to the anti-Ronaldo protests from Atletico fans and speculation about Tuesday's crunch meeting with Ten Hag.

That face-to-face interaction with his new boss did not end with him changing his transfer stance but, nevertheless, he is set to don United colours for the first time since May 7 this weekend.
