Manchester United transfer news live Jadon Sancho to Dortmund latest and Man Utd contract updates

Manchester United are having a busy start to January with work to sell players in full swing despite the window being just five days old.

Donny van de Beek and Sergio Reguilon have already left the club but they are unlikely to be the only ones. Jadon Sancho is the latest player to be heading towards the exit door.

Erik ten Hag was coy about the winger's future in his pre-Wigan Athletic press conference but MEN Sport understands United and Borussia Dortmund are closing in on a loan agreement for the England international. Reports elsewhere have suggested this will include a £25m buy clause at the end of the season.

It is not all about outgoings though. United continue to be linked with forwards including; Timo Werner, Serhou Guirassy and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

Ten Hag also confirmed three contract extensions yesterday as Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Hannibal Mejbri were all given an extra year. Meanwhile, away from transfers and deals, Andre Onana will be staying with the Reds until at least Monday after all parties came to an agreement to delay his call-up to the Cameroon squad for AFCON.

United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed the club have extended the contracts of Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Hannibal Mejbri.

The trio were approaching the final six months of their deals but United triggered the one-year option in each contract to tie all of them to the club until 2025. The Manchester Evening News reported the contracts were due to be extended back in October.

The contracts of Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial have not been extended and the latter is expected to be released in the summer if he is not sold in the January transfer window.
