The club season may now officially be over but Erik ten Hag has been planning for next campaign for a while now.

Personal terms for Mason Mount have been agreed while Manchester United have already learned that Tottenham will play the long game for Harry Kane.

They are looking for alternative striker options as a result, although Ten Hag is still uncertain about the size of his transfer budget amid the takeover process.

United are more than six months down the track since the Glazers announced that the club was up for sale. The conclusion is still not clear.

However, it is likely between Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe for the purchase - if the Glazers decide they do want to sell up their majority stake.

Sheikh Jassim submitted a fifth bid on Wednesday but Sir Jim is thought to be edged ahead in the race due to his supposed proposal that could see Avram and Joel Glazer stay as minority shareholders.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup was only three days old when the Glazer family announced that they had Manchester United up for sale.
