Manchester United transfer news LIVE Casemiro signing agreed plus Cristiano Ronaldo update

Manchester United are set to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid after agreeing a fee for his signature.

Casemiro, 30, has settled on a move to Old Trafford and will cost an initial £60million in an agreement which may eventually rise to £70million with performance-related add-ons. It comes after swoops for Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez were completed earlier in the summer transfer window.

United and other Premier League clubs have until Thursday, September 1 at 11pm to finalise the summer business. Casemiro will become one of the highest earners at Old Trafford.

Despite getting Malacia, Eriksen and Martinez over the line, manager Erik ten Hag and United prioritised a central midfielder this summer and the club, finally, appear to have got their man. Casemiro has spent nine seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu - winning three La Liga medals and the Champions League on five occasions.
