Manchester United transfer news LIVE Henderson and Eriksen latest plus Frenkie de Jong updates

Manchester United have just five days left before their Premier League season will get underway against Brighton and Hove Albion.

It also looks increasingly likely that Erik ten Hag will go into the campaign with the tools already at his disposal, with no end to the Frenkie de Jong saga in sight.

United did make one new addition on Tuesday, however, as former England international Tom Huddlestone was appointed as a player-coach at academy level.

Meanwhile, Dean Henderson has voiced his frustration over his lack of playing time last season. He told talkSPORT: "I turned so many good loans down last summer for that reason [being promised the No.1 spot], and they wouldn't let me go," he revealed. "It was frustrating. To sit there and waste 12 months is criminal really, at my age. I was fuming."

United have seemingly been in a position to finally get a deal over the line at various points over the past few months, not least when they agreed a fee with Barcelona. They’ve been met by public statements from the Nou Camp denying the midfielder is up for sale, despite evidence to the contrary.
