Manchester United transfer news LIVE Mauricio Pochettino latest, Robert Lewandowski linked

Mauricio Pochettino finds himself under increasing pressure at Paris Saint-Germain - and it could have an impact on his chances of becoming Manchester United manager.

The Argentine saw his side crash out of the Champions League on Wednesday night, with the French giants throwing away a 2-0 lead as Karim Benzema's hat-trick sent Real Madrid through to the quarter-finals.

Pochettino remains one of the frontrunners as United look to appoint a permanent manager before the end of the season, although last night's result won't have done anything to convince his doubters that he can be the man to take United forward.

Elsewhere, it proved to be a great night for United's U18s as they booked their place in the FA Youth Cup final with a superb 3-0 win over Wolves at Old Trafford. Charlie McNeill's double either side of an Alejandro Garnacho strike sent them to their first final since 2011.

Reports in Germany have suggested Manchester United are preparing a move for Robert Lewandowski.

Ralf Rangnick has already stated United will need to sign a new striker in the summer, with Edinson Cavani looking set to leave while there is uncertainty over Cristiano Ronaldo's future.

According to BILD, United are monitoring Lewandowski's situation at Bayern, and are lining up a deal to try and lure him to Old Trafford.

The 33-year-old's contract expires in 2023, and Lewandowski is said to be 'surprised' that talks over a new deal haven't yet begun.
