Manchester United told which four players must 'show up' to win FA Cup final against Man City

Ally McCoist has emphasised that the core of Erik ten Hag's team must perform at their peak against Manchester City if Manchester United are to secure the FA Cup on Saturday.

The Red Devils, who are considered underdogs, will be travelling to Wembley with the aim of avoiding a second consecutive final derby defeat. United are hoping to salvage something from a disappointing season by clinching their 13th FA Cup, but they face a formidable challenge in Pep Guardiola's dominant side.

City, fresh from securing an unprecedented fourth consecutive title, have the added motivation of becoming the first team to win back-to-back Premier League and FA Cup doubles, aside from inflicting further misery on their fierce rivals.

In the lead-up to the capital city's derby clash, Ten Hag has been fortunate with several players returning from injury. Lisandro Martinez, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford all made their comebacks earlier this month after periods of absence.

Additionally, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Mason Mount and Anthony Martial participated in team training earlier this week, putting them in contention for selection. McCoist suggests that regardless of the team Ten Hag chooses, they will need to defend robustly, seize their opportunities and have a bit of luck on their side to overcome City.

He has singled out Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and United's two centre-backs, Lisandro Martinez and his selected partner, as particularly vital players.
