Manchester United told to sign 'gettable' Declan Rice alternative in summer transfer window

Darren Bent has claimed that Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma is a “gettable” signing for Manchester United this summer. The 25-year-old has just one year left on his contract with the south coast club.

Bissouma is yet to reach an agreement with the Seagulls over an extension and could well be sold in order to prevent him leaving the Amex Stadium on a free transfer. The Mali international has been an integral part of Brighton’s impressive rise up the Premier League table over the last two seasons, and his sensational displays have seen him linked with a host of clubs.

Aston Villa reportedly had a bid for his services rejected in the January transfer window, whilst Newcastle and Arsenal are also rumoured to be interested in acquiring his services. Brighton will be hopeful of securing a sizeable fee if they do sell but with his contract set to expire in a little over 12 months they could let him go in a cut-price deal.

Seagulls boss Graham Potter revealed last month that Bissouma has aspirations of playing in the Champions League and that he boasts the attributes to succeed at that level. However, United’s hopes of playing in European football’s elite club competition came to an end on Saturday after they suffered a 4-0 defeat at the Amex.

Nonetheless Bent believes that United could complete a deal for the talented midfielder. When asked on talkSPORT if the Red Devils could secure one realistic signing this summer, who would it be and why, he replied: "They need a holding midfield player. They should have got one of them in a little while ago."
