Manchester United told the difference between Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes

Former Manchester United centre-back Wes Brown has detailed the difference between Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes, suggesting there is 'more of a flow' when the Dane operates from deep.

Eriksen has been in impressive form since his summer switch from Brentford, registering two assists in his first eight appearances for Erik ten Hag's men. The former Tottenham man has received widespread praise for his ability to dictate play from deep and control possession.

Meanwhile, Fernandes, who has operated as an attacking midfielder alongside Eriksen and Scott McTominay, has looked solid in recent weeks and grabbed an assist in the 3-1 victory over Arsenal in the club's most recent Premier League match.

The 30-year-old Eriksen — who scored a wonder-goal for Denmark in their Nations League defeat to Croatia last week — has started in every single game for United so far this term, while Fernandes has been named in the starting line-up on seven occasions.

A number of players and pundits have praised the Dane for his individual showings in recent weeks, and ex-United man Brown believes that he has been a big part of the club's recent upturn in form.

"I didn’t know Eriksen ran as much, but he does. And he’s the player United have missed a little bit and that’s not hammering Fred or Scott. He’s always on the half-turn and ready to receive the ball," said Brown, speaking on behalf of 888sport.

"He’s different to Bruno despite many saying they’re similar. Bruno will go for that magician ball, and you want him to do that, but in those deeper positions Eriksen is comfortable with little one-twos and there is more of a flow.
