Manchester United told Champions League qualification relies on fixing one thing

Victor Lindelof believes finding consistency will be the key to Manchester United securing a top-four finish in the Premier League this season. United currently sit fifth in the table ahead of a massive clash with rivals Tottenham this weekend.

Ralf Rangnick's side have struggled for steady performances ever since he took over, but will need to change their fortunes if they are to have any hope of Champions League football next season.

Arsenal currently occupy fourth place in the Premier League, with three games in hand on United, but Lindelof hasn't given up hope of leapfrogging Mikel Arteta's side yet.

However, he knows any hopes of finishing in the top four rely on finding consistency on the pitch, something both they and Tottenham have struggled with all season.

“We haven’t been consistent enough. That’s just the truth. We have to be more consistent with our performances,” he told United Review.

“You can’t win one game, then draw one, win one... we really need to find that consistency in our performances. In the last home game [against Watford], we kept a clean sheet, but we didn’t manage to score any goals. Like I say, we just need to be a little bit more consistent with that because for me, as a defender and as a team, we know that if we keep a clean sheet, we have the quality up front to score goals so, hopefully, we can just find that rhythm and win some games on the bounce.

“You always want to play Champions League football and we always try to focus on our objective. That’s what we want to achieve.”
