Manchester United to repeat Leny Yoro transfer trick after Sir Jim Ratcliffe meeting

Manchester United are set to confirm the arrival of talented French centre-back Leny Yoro from Lille.

The 18-year-old has attracted interest from Real Madrid and Liverpool this summer but United look to have pulled off a huge coup to land one of Europe's most talented defenders. It's a deal which has generated plenty of excitement among United fans after the arrival of Joshua Zikzee from Bologna.

United's plan has been to sign up to three new centre-backs this summer after the departure of Raphael Varane and Willy Kambwala. But there is one other area of concern in Erik ten Hag's squad which must be addressed if they are to challenge for the game's biggest trophies again.

Midfield has long been an area of concern over the past decade at Old Trafford. The likes of Paul Pogba, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Nemanja Matic have come and gone with varying degrees of success.

And whilst talented academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo has taken plenty of concern away from a long-standing issue in United's squad, he cannot do it all on his own. Casemiro was initially a success in his first season at the club after arriving from Real Madrid but the Brazilian struggled badly in 2023/24 and has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
