Manchester United takeover news LIVE as Thomas Zilliacus makes decision amid Scott McTominay blow

Thomas Zilliacus has withdrawn from the Manchester United takeover process after becoming frustrated at the Glazers' decision to open up a third round of bidding.

The Raine Group have set a deadline of April 28 for final bids to be submitted, following two stages in which the likes of Zilliacus, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani all registered their interest. However the Finnish businessman expressed his frustration at another round, labelling the process a 'farce' and claiming the Glazers were 'maximising profit at the expense of Manchester United'.

Elsewhere, Erik ten Hag will be focused on matters on the pitch with United hosting Sevilla in their Europa League quarter-final first leg this evening. The Dutchman will be without Marcus Rashford, following confirmation that the 25-year-old will be out for 'a few weeks'.

Scott McTominay will also be unavailable for the first leg after a minor injury forced him to miss Wednesday's training session, the Scot and Rashford have joined Luke Shaw and Alejandro Garnacho on the sidelines.
