Manchester United takeover latest as ongoing saga 'costs' club key signing

Here is the latest Manchester United takeover news for Thursday, June 29.

Manchester United's interest in Kim Min-Jae was slowed down by the takeover saga, with Bayern Munich now favourites for his signature.

The Napoli defender had a 50million euro release clause in his deal, valid in July. However, Corriere Dello Sport claim United's ongoing takeover prevented them from acting on their interest with Ten Hag unsure on his budget.

The outlet claims that Kim indeed had an ‘agreement’ with United for a summer move and his agents even informally told Napoli that the transfer was happening. He now looks set to join the Bundesliga champions with Lucas Hernandez moving to Paris Saint-Germain.

De Gea saga proves what United need from takeover

At first, it seemed certain he would stay, then it seemed certain he would go. A day before his Manchester United contract officially expires, it is still unclear what David de Gea will do next.

The 32-year-old will not technically be a United player this weekend, though the expiration of his contract does not mean he won't end up signing a new one eventually either.

De Gea would be free to sign for anyone he wishes, but that has been the case for any non-Premier League sides since January, given he could have struck a pre-contract agreement.
