Manchester United takeover latest as delay 'causing problems beyond just transfers'

Manchester United fans have watched on today as Premier League rivals Everton completed their sale to the 777 Partners. For United, it was merely a reminder of how far away their current sale is. The Glazers announced in November a 'strategic review' into the ownership of the club yet we are still no closer to finding out the outcome of it.

Avram Glazer has been posed a question on the sale as recently as this summer but quickly sidestepped it. With the summer transfer window behind us, it appears the delay to the takeover is doing more than just ruining Erik ten Hag's football plans.

A report by The Athletic, has claimed club executives believe United are being held back by Old Trafford being left to deteriorate for so long. The article states that while United said at the beginning of the summer transfer window that transfer business would not be impacted by the wait for new investment, "the sight of United thrashing around on the final day of the transfer window to tie up those loan deals for Amrabat and Reguilon, was not quite 'business as usual'" and that now other areas of the business are also now being affected.
