Manchester United 'suffer blow in Sofyan Amrabat pursuit' and other transfer rumours

Manchester United have reportedly suffered a blow in their hopes to sign Sofyan Amrabat with a new club said to have emerged as frontrunners for his signature.

Fiorentina's central midfielder has been touted with a move to United this summer with those close to him claiming Erik ten Hag is a big fan of the Moroccan. The 26-year-old would strengthen the defensive midfield position at Old Trafford with United currently having little cover for Casemiro.

Elsewhere, The Sun claims Arsenal's new midfielder and former West Ham captain Declan Rice played a big role in Harry Maguire's move to East London. MEN Sport understands the Reds have agreed a fee with the Iron for their former captain and personal terms are now being thrashed out.

Last month, some rumours suggested Maguire was not keen on a transfer to West Ham but the tabloid newspaper reports Rice spoke in depth with his England teammate and persuaded the 30-year-old to switch to the London Stadium. It is also claimed United have given Maguire £6m to cover the deficit in wages he will receive from David Moyes' club.
