Manchester United star generating interest after bids rejected as Galatasary confirm stance on duo

Manchester United are understood to have rejected early bids for Scott McTominay amid mounting interest in the midfielder.

McTominay, 27, is out of contract next year but United have the option of an additional year and the club regards McTominay as an important squad member with high value.

West Ham had a £30million offer turned down for the Scotland international last year when he was valued at £40m. McTominay then embarked on a career-best campaign, scoring ten goals and starting in the FA Cup final victory against Manchester City.

Galatasaray have expressed interest in McTominay but it is doubtful any Turkish club could get near United's valuation of a player who became the first Scotland player to score at a European Championship since 1996 against Switzerland last month.

Galatasaray vice-chairman Ibrahim Hatipoglu has said discussions are ongoing about a move for McTominay. "McTominay's transfer fee is being discussed," Hatipoglu said, as quoted by Haber Sarı Kırmızı. "Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is a good player, he has many suitors, he wants to see all options.

"There is no talk of single-digit figures for right-back and midfield transfers. But we have allocated a budget of less than €10million for right-back.

"There is no negative situation regarding Guela Doue [Rennes right-back]. Negotiations are ongoing [for] McTominay and Doue. Wan-Bissaka is not our priority."
