Manchester United's valuation soars as Tottenham star Harry Kane sent transfer advice

United's value has increased by 30 per cent over the past year because of the club being up for sale, according to Forbes.

It makes United the second-most valuable football outfit in the world at $6billon (£4.83bn), just behind Spanish giants Real Madrid on $6.07bn (£4.88bn). The Reds' price has rapidly increased from last year's $4.6bn (£3.7bn) estimation.

It is claimed that only French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain have experienced greater inflation, growing from £2.57bn to £3.37bn (32 per cent) though they are operating on an income loss of £176million. In contrast, United attain an operating turnaround of £87m.

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright says he would join United in this forthcoming summer's transfer window if he was in Harry Kane's shoes.

United are desperate to add a striker to their ranks ahead of the start of next season and Tottenham Hotspur star Kane has been identified as Erik ten Hag's top target. The England captain would offer United the guarantee of goals that they are after and would significantly boost their attacking options.

However, Spurs are believed to be reluctant to let go of the 29-year-old, despite his contract being up at the end of next season. United, with that in mind, are keeping other targets in mind.
