Manchester United's transfer window compared to Liverpool, Arsenal and other top four rivals

Manchester United put the finishing touches to their squad on Friday as Erik ten Hag made some last-minute adjustments at Old Trafford.

Altay Bayindir's £4.3million move from Fenerbahce was finally confirmed, while both Sergio Reguilon and Sofyan Amrabat joined on loan. United also boosted their defensive ranks as Jonny Evans signed a one-year deal.

United had been keen on another midfielder all summer, finally agreeing a deal for Amrabat after thrashing out the terms of a loan fee.

Ten Hag had been working under strict financial constraints and needed to offload some fringe players in order to raise funds. Those who have left brought in decent money, although the Dutchman may have wanted to see a few more leave.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, those competing for the title and top-four spent vast sums of money as they aim to catch Manchester City. The £100million barrier was smashed by Arsenal and Chelsea, while Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle United all invested heavily.

Below, MEN Sport have rounded up the major ins and outs of United and their top-four rivals.

Incomings: Mason Mount (£60m), Andre Onana (£47.2m), Jonny Evans (free), Rasmus Hojlund (£72m), Altay Bayindir (£4.3m), Sergio Reguilon (loan), Sofyan Amrabat (loan + £10m fee).

Notable outgoings: Anthony Elanga (undisclosed), Dean Henderson (£20m), Fred (£12.9m), Alex Telles (£6m), Matej Kovar (£7.8m), Zidane Iqbal (£1m), David de Gea (released), Phil Jones, (released).

Total spend: £193.5m.

Verdict: Ten Hag worked hard to plug the major gaps in his squad before the season started, with Mount, Onana and Hojlund all in before the opening game against Wolves - albeit the latter could not play.
