Manchester United's next two transfers decided after Manuel Ugarte and Matthijs de Ligt verdict

Manchester United are expected to continue moving swiftly in the summer transfer window after already spending £88million on Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.

The Red Devils came into the window knowing work was required to ensure they improved on last season. Erik ten Hag's men finished eighth in the Premier League - their worst in the competition's history - with the FA Cup final win over Manchester City saving the Dutchman's job.

Zirkzee and Yoro fill two positions that United were desperate for. A quality candidate to compete with Rasmus Hojlund in centre-forward provides Ten Hag with a positive headache in attack and Yoro's arrival significantly bolsters the backline, despite being only 18.

Manuel Ugarte remains United's No.1 target though Paris Saint-Germain' £59m valuation is still a problem. The holding midfielder only joined the French giants last summer but struggled to break into Luis Enrique's team.

His arrival would give Ten Hag another holding midfielder to take the pressure off Casemiro, who struggled for form last season. A deal isn't finalised yet but it's one that should be fine before the start of the season.

There is also more work to be done at centre-back with Matthijs de Ligt still an option. The Netherlands international has agreed personal terms with United, MEN Sport understands, but an agreement between United and Bayern Munich hasn't been reached yet.

Deals for both players have been in the works for some time and it's expected that other areas are being worked behind-the-scenes.
