Manchester United rivals ‘hoping’ to steal Marcel Sabitzer and more transfer rumours

A number of Premier League clubs are said to hold an interest in Marcel Sabitzer, who is on loan at Manchester United from Bayern Munich until the end of the season.

Reds fans have been impressed with his performances during his 11 outings since his January deadline day switch. The Austrian teed up Marcus Rashford’s winner in Wednesday’s 1-0 victory over Brentford having netted his first United goal against Fulham in the FA Cup last month.

Sabitzer had been tracked by United for a number of years before his move, which was triggered upon the news that Christian Eriksen would be ruled out until April with an ankle injury.

The Dane is now nearing a return and Sabitzer’s place in the side will be assessed once the playmaker is up to full fitness. But during his appearances in the interim, the 29-year-old has apparently felt comfortable having lifted the Carabao Cup with the club in February.

Sky Germany reports that the midfielder envisages a future at Old Trafford with his stay at Bayern likely to end this summer having not enjoyed the game time he craves since his 2021 switch.

However, a permanent United move is in danger of becoming less than straightforward with several Premier League clubs have enquired about Sabitzer with two years still left on his contract at Bayern.

Meanwhile, a report from Inter Live suggests Victor Lindelof is set for a summer switch to Inter Milan. The defender has started just five league games this season and last month admitted he will be “assessing” his options at the end of the season.
