Manchester United reiterate Cristiano Ronaldo stance amid latest exit reports

Manchester United have once again insisted Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale, despite reports claiming he has asked to leave the club.

It's claimed the 37-year-old has asked to be allowed to leave United should the club receive a satisfactory offer this summer. The Times suggest Ronaldo has made the decision due to his desire to play Champions League football for the remainder of his career.

The latest reports come after Ronaldo was linked with a move to Chelsea last weekend. The Portuguese ace’s agent, Jorge Mendes, was said to have discussed a possible move to Stamford Bridge during a meeting with Todd Boehly.

Despite the ongoing speculation, senior club sources insist the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is not for sale. Ronaldo’s future has been a constant source of debate since he made his return to Old Trafford last summer. United's failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League has only served to fuel the fire that he could decide to leave just one year after his return.

The former Real Madrid star was linked with a move to Bayern Munich earlier in the window, although the German club went on to deny the claims. Their announcement has done little to cool rumours of a possible exit, with a move to Italy having also been touted.
