Spartak Moscow use Lionel Messi to aim weird dig at Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo wishes to leave Manchester United less than 12 months after signing a two-year deal at Old Trafford.

The striker has not travelled with Erik ten Hag’s pre-season tour squad due to family reasons, but has become unsettled at the prospect of staying on for another year. Ten Hag attempted to cool talk on Monday by revealing he had spoken to Ronaldo and that he was part of his plans. Nevertheless, some believe an exit is on the cards.

That being said, it seems his options are dwindling. Chelsea were linked with Ronaldo but have reportedly pulled out of a potential move while Bayern Munich have underlined their no-transfer stance.

These developments haven't escaped the attention of Spartak Moscow’s Twitter admin, who jumped at the opportunity to ‘troll’ Ronaldo. The club’s tweet that depicted Lionel Messi rejecting their social media greeting went viral last year.

They retweeted this picture with another photoshopped image, in which Ronaldo is ‘seen’ saying “Hi Spartak!” The club then ‘reply’ with “no” - as Messi ‘did’ last year.
