Manchester United receive huge Leny Yoro injury boost amid Premier League debut hint

Manchester United have confirmed that summer signing Leny Yoro has taken a huge step towards returning from injury. The teenager suffered a serious foot issue, which required surgery to fix, during his first start for the club in pre-season against Arsenal.

The Frenchman has spent the last three months working to get back fit and United have now been handed a major boost having announced he returned to outdoor training at Carrington this past Thursday.

Their club statement read: "Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has been pictured passing a significant milestone in his bid to recover from the foot operation he underwent during the summer."

"Our no.15 has now progressed to the next phase in the process, as the photographs above document his first day back out on the grass at our Carrington base.

"Leny was also put through his paces in the gym on Thursday, under the watchful eye of our medical staff." United have been hit by defensive injury blows already this season with Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez among those to have missed action.

A playing return for Yoro is likely still some way off though with Erik ten Hag sure to carefully integrate him back into the squad. As such, a return before the November international break is rather unlikely.
