Manchester United 'preparing £58m bid' for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and more rumours

Manchester United are set to step up their pursuit of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as they look at their options this summer.

It is no secret that the club are in the market for midfield reinforcements with United braced for the exits of Paul Pogba and Juan Mata at the end of the season. The likes of Ruben Neves, Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips have all been linked with moves to Old Trafford.

Milinkovic-Savic has been on United’s radar for some time but only now have reports of a potential bid surfaced. Lazio are reportedly prepared to listen to offers for the 27-year-old and according to La Repubblica (via LazioNews24 ), United are ‘ready to get serious’.

It says that the club could table £58m for the Serb, who is rumoured to be after a big move before the end of his career. Paris Saint-Germain are also understood to be in the market for Milinkovic-Savic.

The player has tallied nine goals and assists apiece in Serie A this season with Lazio outside hopefuls of a Champions League place down in sixth. He’s been a key player for Lazio for seven years now but has only played eight Champions League games in that time, including qualifiers.

He will be hungry for more action in Europe’s elite competition, which does not bode well for United. Furthermore, Il Messaggero report that Milinkovic-Savic’s ‘dream’ move would be to Spain and Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, another name touted for a move to Old Trafford is Youri Tielemans. Arsenal have also lodged an interest while West Ham and Liverpool have pulled out.

Tuttosport (via Sports Mole ) say that the Belgian will not sign a new deal at Leicester and so will likely
