Manchester United predicted line up vs Newcastle as Bruno Fernandes returns and Amad starts

Manchester United will be going in search of a return to winning ways when they welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.

United, who have already been beaten twice by the Magpies this season, were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal last time out. Leandro Trossard scored the only goal of the game to extend United's winless run to three matches.

The Reds head into this contest sitting eighth in the table, three points and two places behind Newcastle. The club has never finished lower than seventh in the Premier League era.

With both United and Newcastle striving for a sixth-placed finish to strengthen their respective chances of participating in the Europa League next season, both sides will be determined to secure maximum points. A victory for United, however, will leave them behind Eddie Howe's team on goal difference heading into the final day.

Ahead of the visit of the Magpies, United boss Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Lisandro Martinez is in contention to return to the matchday squad and is poised to start among the substitutes. Late calls will be made on Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.

As ever, Andre Onana is poised to start in goal. The Cameroonian has started each of United's 36 league games this season and that run is expected to continue, as he goes in search of his first clean sheet since March 9.
