Manchester United 'plotting to sign Gabri Veiga' and other transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly plotting their move to sign Celta Vigo youngster Gabri Veiga.

The 20-year-old has been enjoying a breakout season in La Liga with United being rumoured as showing interest in the youngster's potential. So far this campaign, Veiga has made 30 appearances in Spain, scoring nine goals and grabbing four assists.

Despite being an attacking midfielder by trade, Veiga has shown his versatility having been utilised as a central midfielder and centre forward. According to Football Insider, these performances have led to United scouts sending rave reviews to Erik ten Hag.

It is understood that the Reds see the midfielder as an option to strengthen their squad but they should expect to pay a significant fee due to his contract, which currently expires in 2026. Elsewhere, the Daily Mirror is reporting that Ten Hag's scouts were sent to watch Feyenoord duo Orkun Kokcu and Santiago Gimenez last week.

The pair both featured as Feyenoord were knocked out of the KNVB Cup at the hands of Ajax. Kokcu is a 22-year-old central midfielder who has earned rave reviews this season in his 37 appearances.

Feyenoord's Turkish star is also their captain and has been crucial as they push towards the Eredivisie title. Meanwhile, Gimenez, 21, has been in scintillating form in front of goal for the Dutch giants.

The Mexican centre-forward scored his 22nd goal of the campaign in the 2-1 defeat to Ajax in a brilliant debut season in Europe. It is claimed that United shall need to pay £49m to sign both men in the summer.
