Harry Maguire ‘may accept’ Manchester United exit and more transfer rumours
Harry Maguire is reportedly concerned that he will have to leave Manchester United in order to keep his place in the England team.
The defender has fallen down Erik ten Hag’s centre-half pecking order after losing his place to Lisandro Martinez with Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw all preferred. The Manchester Evening News understands he could be transfer listed this summer.
The club captain has started just 15 games all season, with only seven of those coming in the Premier League. Despite his lack of game time, Gareth Southgate has shown his faith in the 30-year-old for England games.

Maguire was played every game at the World Cup and featured for the entirety of March’s Euro 2024 qualifying wins over Italy and Ukraine. But the Daily Mail reports that the 2019 £80m signing is ‘fearful’ that he may need to leave Old Trafford to keep his place in the Three Lions’ team.
The article says West Ham, Inter Milan and Roma have all lodged an interest in Maguire, whose contract expires in 2025. However, they are reluctant to dish out the high wages he is on at United.
More outgoings than arrival are expected at Old Trafford this summer with Erik ten Hag targeting a striker and a young midfielder. But the Dutchman could look for defensive reinforcements too.
United have been tentatively linked with Axel Disasi of AS Monaco and a report from L’Equipe (via Sport Witness) says the France international, 25, will exit the Ligue 1 club this summer.
His employers are thought to be resigned to losing him for somewhere between £30-£40m excluding any bonuses. Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have also been linked.
