Manchester United player who stunned Man City has accidentally found new strongest positon

Manchester United fans sang "Viva Garnacho, Viva Garnacho, running down the wing, hear United sing," as Alejandro Garnacho prepared to come on against Fulham last Friday.

Supporters enjoy seeing Garnacho play, regardless of which wing he runs down, but he relocated to the right side last season, which now seems to be his best position.

Earlier in the year, Garnacho was asked on a gaming stream which position he preferred - the left or right wing - and he intelligently responded: "being on the pitch."

Garnacho is happy to play on either side and it's a testament to his quality that he's effective on both channels, but his performances and numbers from the last nine months suggest that he's better on the right wing, which is of course, the opposite side to his natural position.

Garnacho didn't play on the right during his time in United's academy and first played on that side against Aston Villa at Old Trafford during the festive period. As it happened, he was outstanding in that game and single-handedly dragged United back into the contest, scoring twice to level the score before Rasmus Hojluind produced a matchwinner with his first league goal.

"He was almost more comfortable on the left but I think he can play on the right," said Erik ten Hag. "Today, I think he was on that right side over 90 minutes an absolute threat, scored twice. But I think the whole frontline played very good. They invested so much in the runs behind, the timings were so good and it was continuing a threat for the opponent."
