David de Gea
Despite the odd lapse, De Gea has been in matchwinning form on a couple of key occasions for United but his kicking has got worse amid greater scrutiny. 7
Diogo Dalot
Dalot was one of the best right-backs in Europe in the first half of the season but he has failed to regain form since sustaining a hamstring injury in Portugal's World Cup defeat to Morocco. 7
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
The first four months of the campaign were a write-off for Wan-Bissaka but he has had a decent run since returning to the United side in December and he has developed an unlikely alliance with Antony. 6

Raphael Varane
United's resurgence started with Varane's recall against Liverpool. His performance level is consistently excellent and after big games he often leaves the pitch as one of the most impressive performers. 9
Lisandro Martinez
One of the signings of the season. Martinez has hardly looked back since the Brentford debacle and his height that mattered that day has not since. Almost as much of an asset in attack as he is in defence with his passing. 9
Victor Lindelof
He has had limited playing opportunities with Varane more durable this term but Lindelof has performed decently more often than not when called upon. 6
Harry Maguire
Has not had the opportunity to recover from the chastening start to the season. Maguire seldom starts for United and a good World Cup has done little to boost his stock at club level. 5
Luke Shaw
Although still prone to the odd egregious performance (Brentford away, Liverpool away), Shaw has had a quietly good season and improved under Erik ten Hag. Arguably the best left-back in the league this term. 8
