Manchester United player Anthony Elanga discusses future after transfer endorsement

Anthony Elanga is not focused on his Manchester United future and will wait to see what happens this summer.

The winger is tipped to leave United this summer after clocking only seven starts in 26 games this season. United have halved their asking price to £10m, preferring a permanent move away so cash can be brought in to facilitate arrivals.

Sweden team-mate Emil Forsberg has urged RB Leipzig to sign Elanga and believes he would be an ideal addition for the Bundesliga side. Reacting to the midfielder's comments, Elanga insisted he will wait to see what develops over the summer.

“It is always nice to hear praise from Emil, who I know very well," he told Aftonbladet. "Emil has won everything, he is a legend in Leipzig and a legend in Sweden.

"Hearing such praise from him is something that makes me laugh and smile. But right now I’m focusing on the matches with Sweden and then we’ll see what happens after.”

“It’s been hard but I can’t control it, it’s just a matter of being strong in the head and showing that I’m ready when the coach wants me to play, but right now the season is over, and it was a good season for the club," he added.

Elanga’s last Premier League goal contribution came as an assist against Liverpool in August and he has not found the net since firing home against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in March 2022. His last start came on January 10 against Charlton in the League Cup.
