United have reiterated that Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale this summer, despite fresh reports suggesting a number of clubs are considering a move for him. The Manchester Evening News revealed earlier this week that United's inactivity in the transfer market and a salary reduction are among the issues that have convinced Ronaldo to try and seek a move away from the club.

However, senior United sources have firmly denied any suggestion they could sell Ronaldo this summer, reiterating that 'there is absolutely no change' in their position on the matter.

Ronaldo, 37, still has one year remaining on the deal he signed when he re-joined the club from Juventus last year.

Ronaldo was absent from United training again on Thursday ahead of the club's pre-season tour departure at the end of the week.

Ronaldo, 37, is the only senior international not to report back for pre-season at United's Carrington training complex this week, with the Portuguese ace missing due to "family reasons". The club said they accepted his explanation.

The forward's absence comes days after it was revealed he is seeking a move away from the club after a terrible trophyless campaign that saw them demoted to the Europa League for next season.
