Manchester United might have to copy Liverpool FC transfer tactic after Erik ten Hag experiment

One of the most pleasing aspects of Manchester United's recent run of good form has been the way in which their attackers have stepped up.

Rasmus Hojlund's opener in last Sunday's 2-1 win at Villa Park marked his fifth goal in as many Premier League appearances and his sixth goal in seven games in all competitions. After initially making a slow start to life in England, he is now starting to demonstrate why United earmarked him as their Harry Kane alternative.

One of the biggest contributors to Hojlund's purple patch has been consistency. After several months of chopping and changing, Erik ten Hag has now settled on his preferred front three.

With Alejandro Garnacho on the right and Marcus Rashford on the left, Hojlund knows where he stands. He has started each of the last four league games sandwiched between the pair of them.

It is a front-three that has demonstrated a cohort understanding of each other's qualities, and they have bounced off each other. It also carries a genuine goal threat, with each member of it plundering two Premier League goals or more in the last four matches.

At the beginning of the season few would have anticipated Garnacho and Rashford featuring in the same XI, unless the latter was deployed in a central position. Rashford, of course, started United's opening two games of the campaign through the middle as a result of Hojlund arriving from Atalanta on the back of an injury.

However, it has always been maintained that the left-wing berth is Rashford's strongest - an argument he has backed up himself on countless occasions.
