Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has already spotted Cody Gakpo's biggest quality
Manchester United's incoming manager Erik ten Hag has already spotted Cody Gakpo's biggest quality amid links to the Reds.
The forward, who has captained PSV Eindhoven on several occasions this season, has lit up the Eredivisie in the 2021/22 campaign. His 21 goals and 15 assists came in just 47 appearances making him a pivotal part of the Dutch side.
Ten Hag is no stranger to Gakpo having managed PSV's rivals Ajax in the 2021/22 season. Unfortunately for the 52-year-old, he could only sit back and watch as Gakpo scored the winning goal in the KNVB Cup final back in April.

When discussing the disappointing result, Ten Hag explained the 23-year-old's strength. "You have to defend much better, you can never let Gakpo come in, that’s where his qualities lie," he said.
"There are two people standing by, you have to keep him on the left." Gakpo has this week outlined that he will be keeping his options open this summer ahead of likely interest in his services.
"Anything can happen this summer," he told De Telegraaf. "I will now calmly compare all the options and see what is best for me.
"Staying another year is also an option. It would be a shame if I went somewhere where I wouldn't get a job at all and I could miss the World Cup.
"I'll keep that in mind." The Dutchman has previously outlined his ambition to play in the Premier League having admired Thierry Henry while the French legend played for Arsenal.
