Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag confirms Marcel Sabitzer blow

Marcel Sabitzer is unavailable for Manchester United's match against Real Betis on Thursday night.

Sabitzer was signed from Bayern Munich in January on a loan until the end of the season and he's made seven appearances for United so far, but he won't be available to play Real Betis in the Europa League, despite playing at Anfield on Sunday.

Giving team news to MUTV, Ten Hag said: "We have a strong programme, but I think we are quite good. The only disappointment is Marcel Sabitzer is not available, as well as Anthony Martial.

"Anthony Martial is back on the pitch, so we will see. For the rest, everyone is available and we are ready for the game.''

Ten Hag's comment would suggest Victor Lindelof is ready to return after missing the trip to Anfield, while Casemiro should also be available after speculation he sustained a knock early on against Liverpool. Long-term absentees Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek remain sidelined.

Martial has played just over 700 minutes this season and last started for United in the Manchester derby on January 14. The forward has been absent for the majority of this season due to hamstring, Achilles, back and hip injuries.

The 27-year-old recently started individual training sessions and is unlikely to return for United until after the international break.
