Manchester United make gesture to supporters travelling for FA Cup final vs Man City

Manchester United have arranged subsidised coaches to take supporters to Wembley for the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

In just a few weeks' time, United will take on City in the first Manchester derby FA Cup final in the history of the competition on Saturday, June 3, but rail strikes have been proposed for that day, which has threatened fans' travel arrangements.

However, the club have confirmed they have organised subsidised coaches at a price of £50 per adult and £40 for Under-16s. The FA will also run a coach replacement service for the final but their coaches will cost £60 per adult.

A statement from United read: "The club will continue to monitor the situation, however we are now satisfied there is enough coach provision to cope with the expected demand.

"Supporters who are successful in the ticket ballot will receive an email outlining their travel options."

The game at Wembley will also kick off at the unusual time of 15:00 BST. The previous FA Cup final that kicked off at 15:00 BST was back over a decade ago in 2011 when City beat Stoke City 1-0 thanks to a goal by Yaya Toure.

United progressed to this season's final on penalties against Brighton, whilst City comfortably dispatched Sheffield United.

The winning and losing clubs in the final will receive £2million and £1m respectively from the competition's prize fund.
