Manchester United lose another talented youngster as Carrie Jones makes Bristol City switch
Manchester United have allowed another talented youngster to leave the club as Carrie Jones signs for fellow WSL side Bristol City.
The Welsh star has signed a three-year deal with the newly-promoted side. Jones joined the Reds in 2020 to join the U21 side but made her senior debut nine months later as an 88th-minute substitute in a 3-0 FA Cup win over Aston Villa.
She signed her first professional contract that same year. The young talent made 10 appearances in a United shirt across her two seasons at the club, five of which were in the WSL. However, manager Marc Skinner sent the youngster to Leicester City on a season-long loan for the 2022-23 campaign.
Immediately she made her mark on the Leicester squad and saw first-team action on the 2022-23 season's opening day, albeit in a narrow 2-1 defeat away to Tottenham Hotspur.
It was a nervy campaign for Jones as the Foxes avoided relegation by just five points. The forward played her part in 19 league clashes, making 15 starts and grabbing two goals.
She also made several appearances for her country in Women’s World Cup qualifiers. So far she has recorded two goals in her 20 caps for Wales.
