Manchester United loanee Amad nominated for another award after impressive Sunderland loan

Manchester United loanee Amad has been nominated for the Championship Fans' Player of the Year award.

The Ivorian forward has enjoyed a fantastic season on loan with Sunderland, scoring 14 times to fire them into the play-offs. Amad also netted the equaliser in their 2-1 play-off semi-final first-leg win over Luton Town.

Amad will be hoping for similar success when the Black Cats travel to Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night. He'll be buoyed by the news he has been put up for the supporters' trophy.

Amad is one of six players selected, alongside Championship top-scorer Chuba Akpom, Sheffield United's Iliman Ndiaye, Burnley forward Nathan Tella, Coventry's Viktor Gyokeres and Carlton Morris from Luton.

Akpom was named the league's official Player of the Year whilst Alex Scott scooped up Young Player ahead of Amad, who was nominated alongside Middlesbrough's Hayden Hackney.

Voting is now open for fans to pick one player from the shortlist above to win the Player of the Year award; fans can do so on the 90min.com website.

Sunderland finished sixth in the Championship and hold a 2-1 lead against Luton approaching the second leg. Amad is expected to start for Tony Mowbray's young side, who have been decimated by injuries this season.

MEN Sport revealed last month that Ten Hag is open to adding Amad to the first-team squad next season. United have made arrangements for the winger to attend the FA Cup final.
