Manchester United icon Roy Keane finally breaks golden rule - and Jamie Carragher loves it

Roy Keane has finally broken his golden rule - and Jamie Carragher is delighted to see it.

The iconic former Manchester United captain, now 53, needs no introduction at Old Trafford and beyond for what he achieved as a player. But while the ever-popular Irishman is as equally hard-nosed with a microphone in hand in his follow-up career as a pundit, football fans have seen a different side to him in recent years.

Keane, sharp-witted and humorous to go with his uncompromising demeanour, regularly entertains on Sky Sports, ITV and other such broadcasters.

And the one-time midfielder has also carved out a bit of a niche for himself on podcasts and other media outlets.

A regular alongside ex-United teammate Gary Neville on The Overlap - which hosts Stick To Football - Keane also spends a great deal of time in the studio with Liverpool hero Carragher these days. Indeed, that particular trio and Ian Wright are currently showcasing their adventures on a pre-filmed series; The Overlap on Tour.

That's being drip-fed to the public alongside other TV and media appearances. The Overlap group are pretty much getting anywhere and everywhere these days - such is their popularity - and their 'mix-it' lifestyle has led to Keane breaking one of the golden rules that makes Keane errm, well, Keane.

Speaking previously on The Overlap, Neville and Keane got into a debate about asking for pictures with fellow celebrities and autograph-hunting as a general rule. After that, Keane, as dismissive as ever, jokingly ripped into Neville for being rebuffed by actor Cillian Murphy - incidentally a Cork native like Keane.
