Sky Sports make security decision following furious Roy Keane altercation after Man United match
Sky Sports will reportedly not increase its security team around its pundits after Manchester United legend Roy Keane was involved in a pitchside altercation with a supporter after the club's match at Ipswich Town on Sunday.
Ruben Amorim's first match in charge of Man United ended 1-1 against Kieran McKenna's side. Keane and his co-pundits were interviewing the manager and debating all of the key talking points from the Premier League clash in the aftermath, throughout which he was heckled by a home supporter.
Unimpressed, the ex-midfielder appeared to tell the fan to 'wait in the carpark' for him to finish his TV duties. A man who claimed on social media to be the one Keane said this to explained that he had said 'a few choice words' about his stint managing Ipswich between 2009 and 2011.
According to The Mail Online, they report Sky Sports remain happy with the level of security they have for their pundits and will therefore not make any changes moving forwards.
Bodyguards were actually brought in because of another incident involving Keane - last season, when he was headbutted by an Arsenal supporter off-air in the Emirates Stadium's hospitality area as he awaited a lift down to the pitch with his fellow Sky pundits.
Before every match they now carry out a risk assessment to determine the level of security at each Premier League match they cover.
The Man United legend has already admitted recently that he doesn't see himself continuing punditry by his time in a decade. The 53-year-old actually loves the analysis he is able to provide, though dislikes the 'hassle' of matches and fans.
The Mail also state that Sky have spoken separately to Keane himself, presenter Kelly Cates plus co-pundits Jamie Redknapp and Izzy
