Manchester United have obvious January transfer priority Gary Neville has highlighted

There was disappointment tinged with optimism for Manchester United at the final whistle when they signed off for the season's first international break following a gut-wrenching reverse to Arsenal.

United were denied a probable late winner by VAR by the barest offside margin when Alejandro Garnacho burst through and slotted the ball beneath an outstretched Aaron Ramsdale into the net. Then a few minutes later the Reds were consigned to a second defeat in north London alone this season.

However, unlike the Tottenham game in which United were second best, there was a less than subtle nod to the future served up by Garnacho and his newest attacking teammate. Rasmus Hojlund was finally handed his belated debut after injury and the Denmark prospect announced his arrival in heavy-handed fashion.

Hojlund hustled, bustled and ruffled up a few feathers during his 23-minute cameo. United signed him as the replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo but comparisons with the legendary five-time Ballon d'Or winner, former target Harry Kane and particularly Erling Haaland will have to stop - as pundit Gary Neville explained.
