Manchester United have five players fighting for their futures under Erik ten Hag

Manchester United are preparing for a busy transfer window with only a few weeks of the season remaining.

Erik ten Hag wants to bolster his squad in the market and the return of Champions League football should boost the coffers. A striker remains United's number one priority with Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen targeted.

Elsewhere, there are vacancies at right-back and central midfield, if the right options become available. There could be movement in the goalkeeper department too.

In order to facilitate those deals, United may have to raise funds by selling their fringe players. With a few weeks of the season to go, several players are fighting for their futures at Old Trafford.

Here are five players that may need to convince Ten Hag they should have a place in his squad next season.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Manchester United are exploring the possibility of signing a right-back this summer. The club has held talks with the representatives of Jeremie Frimpong.

Diogo Dalot is in talks over a new contract but his future is still unclear. If a right-back is coming in, one has to exit and Wan-Bissaka is the most likely at this stage.

However, if he can grasp an opportunity in the final few weeks of the season, perhaps he could convince Ten Hag to cash in on Dalot instead. Wan-Bissaka was put up for sale last summer but there were no takers, though there could be more of a market this summer.

Harry Maguire

The Manchester United captain may not play again this season but if he's given a chance, he must take it. Maguire is currently the fourth-choice centre-back behind Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Victor
