Manchester United have been given exciting Rasmus Hojlund verdict in Erling Haaland comparison

Rasmus Hojlund is among Manchester United's transfer targets this summer as the Old Trafford club seeks to strengthen its forward line.

United are seeking to add reinforcements at the top end of the pitch in a bid to add further firepower and continue to progress under Erik ten Hag after his first season in charge. Marcus Rashford netted 30 goals last season, more than double the next player in the list of United's top scorers.

Ten Hag has held talks with Hojlund about a summer switch as they scout centre-forward alternatives to top target Harry Kane. Spurs are reported to want £100m for their captain and United have been working under the assumption that the North London club will not sanction Kane's departure to a domestic rival this summer.

Hojlund scored 16 times for Serie A side Atalanta last season, not including the five he scored in two Denmark appearances during March’s internationals. The 20-year-old has just finished his first season with the Italian club after mvoing last summer from Austrian side Sturm Graz.

Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini has already admitted that the Italian side would not be able to reject a 'huge bid' for the Denmark international if it comes this summer. It remains to be seen if that comes from United or not in the weeks and months to come.
